Under the Maryland Governor’s current State of Emergency churches are considered “non-essential.” However, Guidance from the Maryland State Office of Legal Counsel has clarifies that clergy are allowed to continue “Minimal Operations,” which includes “facilitating remote worship.” Therefore, Der Hayr will livestream our Sunday services on-line for the foreseeable future. We invite you to join us from your home computer each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. to help us lift our collective voices to the Lord, as we pray for support during these uncertain times.
In the meantime, please do not come to Church until Governor Hogan announces an end to his current Executive Order. If you are pulled over by the police, you will be subject to a $5,000 fine and up to one year in prison. We are also keeping the church doors locked at all times and will not let anyone in, as we seek to ensure that Soorp Khatch does not violate the current prohibition against public gatherings of 10 people or more. However, you are always welcome to call the church office (301) 229-8742 or Der Hayr if we can be of service to you in any way. We will get through this difficult time together and thank you for your support.
